Scripture: Ecclesiastes 2:12-17 | Series: Ecclesiastes: Grounded Spirituality
If there is one front runner for meaning “under the sun” in the mind of The Teacher, it’s wisdom. He notices that not only is wisdom required to pursue the question of life’s meaning, but it is a necessary companion for living out the answer. But upon closer examination he laments that this, too, is stymied by death. What better is wisdom than folly if both end up in the dirt? But these musings can lead us to a kind of wisdom that defies death, namely the wisdom of Jesus and the cross.
