Scripture: Psalm 88 | Series: Lent 2016
Lament is the neglected language of hope in suffering that grabs hold of the God of our salvation when He seems least present and most antagonistic. Without it our soul's roots struggle to crack through hard ground and reach the source of life which keeps us bearing fruit in season. To Lament is to experience our darkness as the shadow of the cross cast by resurrection light rather than the despair of God's indifference or the blindness of a purposeless universe.
