Scripture: Acts 17 | Series: Uncommon
Early Christians were very persuasive. Just a handful of disciples in the 1st C. ultimately persuaded 33 million people to follow Jesus by the 4th C. Obviously this was the work of the Holy Spirit, then as it is now. But the astonishing thing about that growth rate - 40% per decade - is that He used mostly ordinary (and a few extraordinary) people to do it through the strength of their reasoning. Paul models in Acts 17 what we are called to in our day - not just an engagement with the minds of those inside and outside our tradition, but grappling with the logic of the heart.
