Scripture: Philippians 3:3-21 | Series: Eastertide 2017
Just as all sin can be traced to 7 foul streams of the capital sins (vanity, envy, wrath, sloth, gluttony, lust and greed) which themselves gurgle forth from the sewer of pride, all new life in Christ can be summarized in 7 virtues. The power of the resurrection gives birth to the cardinal virtues (prudence, temperance, justice and courage) and the theological virtues (faith, hope and love). The rudder for all of these is prudence or wisdom - knowing what counts, knowing the way forward and knowing who to follow.
